Set within the avant-garde framework of Hudson Yards, we designed a lobby that redefines the concept of architectural luxury. At the heart of the project is a tight dialogue between the graphic strength of Sahara Noir and the deep elegance of Palissandro, creating a 'Linear Noir' aesthetic where mineral geometries meet an organic, tailored warmth. The space vibrates with cosmopolitan energy, transforming the hotel entrance into a sensory experience dominated by magnetic darkness and flashes of golden light.

Phase I: Sahara Noir Selection and Color Matching

The quest for aesthetic perfection began with a rigorous selection of materials, aimed at creating a chromatic contrast of absolute impact.

• Material Selection: We identified blocks of Sahara Noir of exceptional quality, characterized by a deep black background crossed by sharp, straight golden and white veins.

• Dialogue between Materials: The marble was paired with Palissandrochosen for its warm tones and natural texture, capable of balancing the rigorous geometry of Sahara Noir and bringing a welcoming atmosphere to the lobby.

Phase II: Processing and 'Bookmatch' Engineering

The transformation of the material in our workshop was driven by the desire to enhance the stone's graphic and monumental qualities.

• High-Gloss Finish: Each slab underwent state-of-the-art mirror polishing to maximize the depth of the black and the brilliance of the veins, ensuring a reflectivity that expands the perception of space.

• Mirror Symmetry: The primary technical challenge was the bookmatch fabrication. Through digital slab mapping, we ensured that the golden veins were mirrored with millimetric precision, transforming the vertical claddings into authentic, seamless works of natural art.
